The Golden Rule of Networking - Help others first!

Yes my friends that is the golden rule. Everytime you meet someone, think to yourself how can I help this person? The best networkers are the people who think " who do I know that this person would benefit from meeting"? When you put other peoples' needs ahead of your own you will always benefit in the end.

Unless you are part of the Secret Service remove your blue tooth ear piece when you are networking. Your blue tooth doesnt make you look important it makes you unapproachable.

I have found that many people never take the time to make sure that their family understands what they do for a living and who a good referral is for them. Remember your referrals will come from people who know like and trust you so don’t miss out on a great source of referrals tell your family how they can help you grow your business.

Today's networking tip - When was the last time you sent somebody a handwritten note to thank them for meeting with you? This simple gesture will leave a positive impression with your potential client.
