Business Networking Tip - Be Persistent

If you ask me to describe what it is like to be an entrepreneur in one word, I would say persistence. What is persistence? It’s a firm continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. Growing a business is hard and it takes a lot of work, but you cannot give up. We all know that there are going to be up times and down times when running our business. It’s during those down times that you want to panic or bail out. Be persistent. I always say that if it was easy, then everyone would start their own business. I have faced incredible challenges that have made me question running the networking group and hosting so many events. The time, energy and knowledge that you need to have and give can be overwhelming. I know through persistence and hard work that everything has and will work out. This is your dream! Be persistent.

Networking Success Story: Tami M Dristiliaris

Networking Success Story: Tami M. Dristiliaris

Making time for networking pays off.  I became a successful business owner because of networking. The key to my ten years of success is to be visible in every community possible. By attending each and every Friends of Kevin networking event I am in contact with some of the same and always new business contacts with whom to share my personality. You are your business and when people realize you are easy to speak with and have a high level of expertise in your field, they remember.

So get out there, know your trade, speak about what you do and let people know you're a person with a service they or their friends need.  And trust me, you will get referrals.  Time is the key so make time in the New Year and get networking.  Remember, there are many people who do the same thing you do, but you do it better!!!  Oh, and don't forget your business cards!

Networking Tips

The Golden Rule of Networking - Help others first!

Yes my friends that is the golden rule. Everytime you meet someone, think to yourself how can I help this person? The best networkers are the people who think " who do I know that this person would benefit from meeting"? When you put other peoples' needs ahead of your own you will always benefit in the end.

Blue Tooth

Unless you are part of the Secret Service remove your blue tooth ear piece when you are networking. Your blue tooth doesnt make you look important it makes you unapproachable.

Does your Mother know you do that?

Today’s Networking Tip – Does your mother know that you do that? I have found that many people never take the time to make sure that their family understands what they do for a living and who a good referral is for them. Remember your referrals will come from people who know like and trust you so don’t miss out on a great source of referrals tell your family how they can help you grow your business.

Stand out from the crowd

Today's networking tip - When was the last time you sent somebody a handwritten note to thank them for meeting with you? This simple gesture will leave a positive impression with your potential client.
